The term Sayyid Bandhu refers to the brothers Hussain Ali Khan and Syed Hasan Ali Khan Barha. Syed Hasan Ali Khan Barha began his early career as a faujdar in Aurangzeb's Mughal Empire and supported Bahadur Shah I in the war of succession following Aurangzeb's death.
The Sayyid Brothers became highly influential in the Mughal court after Aurangzeb's death and became king builders during the chaos following the death of Emperor Aurangzeb in 1707.
Bahadur Shah I defeated his rival in the war of succession and became the seventh Mughal ruler of the Mughal Empire. Bahadur Shah I ascended the throne of the Mughal Empire at the age of 63, who was also the oldest Mughal ruler to sit on the throne.
Bahadur Shah I, with the support of the Sayyid brothers, defeated his brothers in the war of succession and on becoming the rulers of the Mughal Empire, gave the Sayyid brothers a high position.
Husain Ali Khan Barha and his brother Husain Ali Khan were both instrumental in the establishment or deposition of several emperors on the Delhi throne, due to which he is called the Master King Maker of Indian History.
